The Tear down has began! Lots has got to go, the square headlight, windshield, handlebars, mirrors, seat, signals, shocks, fenders, mufflers, just to name a few?

  1. I'm looking at doing the exact same build you have. . .thank you so much for documenting the process.

  2. Jason,
No problem, believe me before I started I scanned the web hoping to find something, but not much was out there, that's what motivated me to start shopschops. I'm glad that you appreciate the effort at least you can take what I've done and maybe do a better job with less time wasted trying to find parts and ideas.
    Thanks again.

  3. Hey Shop, what did you do with the parts you removed for the Bobber project? ie...shocks, signals, mufflers, and windshield? Still have them? And if so, willing to part with them?

I have a 78 that needs some better (and better looking) parts.

  4. Hey Anonymous,
I still have most of the parts I took off. I tried selling them on e-bay but no dice, some of them went though? I know that I actually lost money when I sold the seat, but I was just trying to get rid of a lot of it so let me know what you need and I'll be able to get back to you about it. The Shops Chops Contacter 9000 to the right of this is a real good way to contact me it goes straight to my personal email. I know that I still have the mufflers and some other stuff so first come first serve.

  5. Hey Shops I have the same bike (except has different tank and ferring)How much would you charge to do the chop on my bike? I can handle the paint and powdercoat. I'll also provide the teardrop tank. (That all also depends where you are located, I'm in Lake Havasu Az)

  6. Pablo,
I would love to chop your bike, but, I'm located in Florida and I'm pretty sure that wouldn't be very cost productive. It is a fairly easy procedure though the important part is that it's done right and safe. Good luck and I hope that it works out.
