Day 207 "Street Legal!" 6 July 2009

So today I went to the tax office and licensed and registered the bobber, we also insured it so it is street legal! Because its 30 years old I got the antique plate too. Also I put the mirror on, look close and you'll see it. Now I just need to Sync my carbs and I'm good to go!

  2. Been reading your blogs about the transition from day one. I just started a 1980 XS1100 project and am in the process of hardtailing it like you did, but was wondering what the length of the pieces you welded in for the hardtail were or where you got them? My name is Ethan and email is blackrayne911@yahoo.com looking forward to hear from you. Awesome ride definitely one of a kind nice work.

  3. Matt,
Thanks, sometimes its comments like yours that keep me plodding along, especially after a day like today of working on the bike. Lets just say a test run had a little less then desired result. So much so that there will be no post for 10 July 2009, but maybe tomorrow will be better? Thanks again Matt there's plenty more to come!

  4. Anonymous Ethan,
I also want to thank you for your comment as well! My first question is, if you've been reading the blog since day one, why are you not in the fan club? Your probably like the #1 fan and don't even know it? As for your XS 1100 keep me updated and feel free the ask me any questions. You should have my email now, or you can use the form here on "Shops Chops" I hope that this page can help you at least a little. Thanks again for the comment, every one helps.

  6. Hey Lennon,
Sorry it took so long to reply to your comment, I just got back into the Country. I'm glad that Shops Chops has been helpful and I don't mind that at all. As far as the ride goes it's not bad at all and the springer seat helps out a ton. E-bay has a lot of options if you haven't already gotten one I would highly recommend looking into something good, you'll be glad that you did. Well Lennon thanks again for checking out Shops Chops and I hope that your project goes well. Feel free to contact me with any more questions or comments.
